Individual Counseling Theories

The following pages contain information on individual theories, organized into four forces. When comparing, and contrasting across forces it can be useful to identify skills which are likely to be utilized across theoretical approaches (e.g., reflections of content, reflections of feeling, open questions) as well as, counselor ways of being, understanding and intervening (Cheston, 2000) that might be considered unique to each theory.
