Counselor Professionalism
As professionals, it is important that counselors master diverse
interpersonal and academic skills.
Professional Writing
Professional writing is an important skill for counselors, as they are
tasked with writing case notes, client conceptualizations, treatment plans,
reports, and a range of other documents. Effective writing can help to
demonstrate that one is competent when faced with legal and/or ethical
complaints.
Counselors generally follow the APA Style Manual (American Psychological
Association, 2010 ) when writing.
